VirtualDub deinterlace video filter

This is the home page of the free VirtualDub deinterlace filter. It implements well-known and very good Yadif deinterlace algorithm. The filter is freeware. The latest version is 1.2. The comparison between various deinterlace methods can be found here

How to install the filter?

Copy the Vdyadif.vdf file to the "plugins" subdirectory of the VirtualDub installation directory.

How to add the deinterlace filter to the filters chain?

Launch the VirtualDub. Then go to "Video"->"Filters"->"Add". At this point you will see the list of all available filters. Select "Yadif deinterlacing filter" and then click "OK". You will see the configuration window where one can choose the appropriate deinterlace mode.

What is the parity option?

If the parity option is set the filter copies even lines and converts odd ones. Otherwise, the filter copies odd lines and converts even ones.

What is the full mode?

In the full mode the filter performs additional check on pixel values in order to determine the best suitable output value.
