After a long period of testing the final version of Skype 5.0 for Mac OS X has been released. Apple computers users can now enjoy business video conferencing which was previously introduced in the version for Windows. Unfortunately, this feature is a part of the Premium package for which you have to pay.
Extras is a service that allows developers to publish plug-ins for Skype. However the service will be closed. Skype will no longer certify new plug-ins. Existing ones will be valid until their certificates expire and will be available through the Extras Manager.
Although this is unconfirmed information, the situation looks very interesting - as reported by The New York Times, the Skype founders may want to buy Skype back from eBay.
