GSM encryption broken
The 21-year-old GSM encryption algorithm has been broken by a 28-year-old hacker. German engineer, Karsten Nohl, (an expert on encryption) announced that the GSM algorithm (A5/1) has been broken by him. This means that he was able to decrypt the secret code that protects the privacy of the vast majority of all mobile calls. It is estimated that this encryption method is used by 80% of all subscribers.
Blio - a new e-book format
Next week at the International Exhibition 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), there will be presented a new format of e-books - Blio. Instead of pretending to be e-paper, Blio is to be adapted to the requirements of tablets, netbooks, and mobile phones.

New user interface design in Firefox
Stephen Horlander, who works at the Mozilla Corporation as a Visual Designer, presented a few new conceptual user interface projects which can be implemented in the upcoming version of Firefox for Windows.
