Linux Mint 8 "Helena"

The final version of the Linux Mint distribution has been released (codename Helena).

The new edition is based on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, kernel 2.6.31, Gnome 2.28 desktop environment, and Xorg 7.4. The new version also brings many changes and updates. This time, developers implemented support for OEM installation, added the possibility to define packages that do not have to be checked through a system update.
