Ubuntu without GIMP
During the Ubuntu Developer Summit, it was announced that the Ubuntu distribution version 10.04 would not contain the default graphics program GIMP.
The decision was taken due to the fact that GIMP is directed to a different group of users than Ubuntu itself. The program is designed for more advanced users while the distribution is created for less advanced users.
For many users GIMP is too complicated. Removing GIMP will also release a lot of space on a CD. GIMP will be replaced with F-Spot. It can work in browser mode or full edit mode.
