Fedora 12
The new version of Fedora 12 has been released.
The new system is much faster than the previous version. All packages for the 32-bit (x86_32) platform were compiled for i686 with a special optimization for Intel Atom. Updates are installed faster and they are smaller. This was achieved through yum-presto plugin which was optional in Fedora 11 and now is installed by default. Gzip compression is replaced by XZ. NetworkManager has been significantly improved. Theora Codec is updated to version 1.1. Developers have ddded experimental support for 3D graphics cards (AMD's Radeon HD 2400 and newer).
More information on the new Fedora and the complete list of changes can be found on the project website.
