Google has released source code for Android 2.0
Over a week ago, the first phone with Android operating system version 2.0 appeared on the market. Now, Google has released the source code of the OS. Interestingly, some developers have already created a version designed for the first phone which was equipped with Google software – T-Mobile G1.
The source code for the new version of the operating system has long been awaited by many developers and manufacturers of mobile phones. Google decided to meet these demands in order to facilitate the implementation of the OS on new devices and to simplify the creation of applications for it.
It turned out that developers interested in Android quickly took advantage of new opportunities. As reported by the Mobilecrunch, the new system version 2.0 runs well on the G1 phone.
The source code for Google's system is available on the Android project website. Developers who want to write applications using the capabilities of the new system should get the latest Android SDK and AVD Manager.
