Google Audio

As the TechCrunch reports, Google is likely to launch a music service that will allow to search for songs and download them. The most probable name for the service will be Google Audio.

In 2008, Google launched a Chinese engine that allows to search for music and download for free some of the tracks. Google's audio will probably work in a different way. However, it is not clear whether it will be possible to download music or listen to it online (streaming) or both. Unfortunately, the service is likely, at least at the beginning, not to be available globally.
