Parted Magic 4.5 released

The next stable version of the free distribution Parted Magic has been released. It is an operating system designed for managing hard disks.

Parted Magic 4.5 allows comprehensive management of partitions (delete, create, resize, move, etc.).

The distribution is characterized by very low hardware requirements (64MB RAM is enough to run the system). The latest version is based on Linux kernel version 2.6.30.6. Developers have updated many software packages, including TrueCrypt 6.2a, Clonezilla 2.3.3, GParted 0.4.6, 2.1.5 Pigz, Partclone 0.1.1-16, BusyBox 1.14.3, Firefox 3.5.3, 1.1.1 Adblock.

With the new modules, it is possible to establish a PPPoE connection in the Home Network. In addition, special scripts have been made available in the command line to allow switching between different Intel drivers to avoid problems with the latest version of X.org.

Parted Magic 4.5 is available for download as an ISO image. The system can run as a LiveCD or directly from a portable memory (LiveUSB).
