Gimp 2.8 with the new user interface
Creators of the free graphics editor GIMP, announced that the new version 2.8 would bring significant changes in the user interface.
The new version, which may appear later this year, unlike its predecessors, will have only one working surface. So far, work in the GIMP has been cumbersome because of the number of independent windows, especially for users who are used to the interface similar to the commercial Photoshop. Now, with the Single Window Mode, the program will resemble Photoshop form Windows. What is important, you can also use the classic interface, depending on your preferences.
Single Window Mode is not the only innovation we will see in the version 2.8. With the introduction of the one working surface, the program will be equipped with a bar of thumbnails of open projects. Moreover, GIMP will also have a Polaroid tool that will be used to quickly preview any image.
