On the Linux Foundation website, we can find a newly released "Linux Kernel Development" report. The document deals with many issues related to the development of linux kernel.

Compared to data from the report published in April last year, the most important change is the 10% increase in the number of developers involved in the work on successive versions of the kernel. The number of code lines added daily has increased almost threefold, the kernel code base has grown by 2.7 million lines.

Among companies, the largest contribution to the development of the code have the following firms: Red Hat, IBM, Novell and Intel. Among the leading developers is David S. Miller, who introduced 2239 bug fixes.
