Mozilla encourages volunteers to support the new initiative "Mozilla Service Week", scheduled for the 14-21 September 2009. As part of "Mozilla Service Week", Mozilla community is looking for people with talent to design and develop applications, and those who simply have comprehensive technical knowledge.

Mozilla is also looking for people who want to share, give, engage, create and work by offering their time and skills to various non-profit organizations and individuals who need support in areas related to computer technology and the Internet.

Mozilla wants to train and encourage many volunteers, so that they can, for example, teach elderly people how to surf on the web, help public organizations to effectively use the Internet, install a wireless network at school or develop guidelines for network computers in libraries. All individuals and organizations can register on Mozilla Service Week (the website is available in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian, and soon will also be available in other languages). More about the project can be read on the Mozilla blog.
