Gmail - new rules for sending mail
The company informed about the new possibility on the official blog. The new feature can be very useful for those who use gmail web interface to send an receive emails from external accounts. Until now, when sending an email using an external account, "@gmail.com" has been added to the return address. The reason was to prevent rejection of such emails by spam filters.
From today, users of Google's mail service can change their account settings and their email will be sent without "@gmail.com" suffix. Changes can be done by logging into your Gmail account, then going to Settings -> Accounts -> Send mail as: -> Edit and selecting "Send via SMTP servers".
