Specialists from the McAfee company warn all users of the Mac OS X against malware called Puper, which is distributed as a media player MacCinema.

Puper is a trojan which is distributed as a disk image that contains the installer of a fake video player. When you run this file, your computer gets infected with a malicious script with the name "AdobeFlash". Every five hours, the script is trying to download and install another malicious software.

Puper is another example of the attacks targeted towards users of Apple who are encouraged to install additional codecs and plug-ins on their system. McAfee also recalls that similar malicious software was used some time ago to create the so-called Botnet networks on computers running Mac OS.
