Eclipse Galileo released

Today, the new stable version of Eclipse software development environment Galileo (3.5.0) has been released.

Galileo brings a lot of changes to the previous version of the environment, that was released less than a year ago. MacOS X users should be satisfied with the new Cocoa interface. Developers who write in Java can now use a new tool (Memory Analyzer) that helps to track memory leaks in applications. PHP Development Tools is the first stable solution on the market that fully supports PHP 5.3. Mylyn tool, integrates the environment with bugtrackers from Bugzilla, Trac and JIRA. Also a new tool for handling XSL format style has been added. Another novelty is the Swordfish framework and Xtext DSL (Domain Specific Languages) tool.

Eclipse is a universal environment because of the multiplicity of languages in which the programmer can create applications or websites. Other projects are based on Eclipse. For instance, a commercial project Zend Studio and a free one Aptana Studio. Galileo offers 33 different projects, grouped in 9 packages: Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers, Eclipse IDE for Java Developers, Eclipse for PHP Developers, Eclipse IDE for C/C ++ Developers, Eclipse for RCP/Plug-in Developers, Eclipse Modeling Tools, Eclipse IDE for Java and Report Developers, Pulsar for Mobile and Java Developers Eclipse Classic 3.5.0.

The environment can be downloaded from the project website.
